Summer of '69 – A Wedding with Woodstock Vibes

Especially now that weddings are booming again and there are constantly new trends, it’s actually a great idea to not let current wedding trends influence you at all—but rather, for example, to let the wedding venue itself inspire you. Why not try to learn a little more about the history of your venue? When and in what style was it built? What kinds of celebrations have taken place here over the years? A wedding theme is truly authentic when it fits perfectly with the surroundings!

The once-private Villa Müller in Feldkirch, which was built in the ’60s and unfortunately stood vacant for several years toward the end, was recently brought back to life: Through crowdfunding, the necessary funds were raised to restore the building to its former glory. It underwent a complete renovation—yet its indescribable ’60s charm remained intact, making this villa something truly special. Today, it serves as a hotel, workshop space, and concert venue, and on very rare occasions, weddings are held there as well. A particular eye-catcher: the dilapidated, covered pool, which hasn’t seen water in a long time but has, in the meantime, hosted quite a few legendary parties.

The wonderfully authentic ’60s vibe of this villa also set the tone for the “Summer of ’69” photo shoot: laid-back, lighthearted, and boho—but not in a trendy way, rather a true retro wedding—perfectly complementing the vintage furniture found here in abundance. The stationery is inspired by the original 1969 Woodstock poster, and the symbols also appear on the sweet table. Orange, mustard yellow, and shades of brown dominate the villa’s decor, and thus play a central role in the fashion, stationery, florals, and pastries. The turquoise blue of the old pool and blue accessories provide a striking contrast.
