Love, as the French philosopher Voltaire once said, is a fabric woven by nature and embroidered by the imagination. This outdoor wedding on the Old Rhine takes us back to the loom—surrounded by lush greenery, we celebrate a wedding ceremony at sunset. The water’s surface shimmers golden behind the wedding arch, while the bride and groom stand facing each other, their hearts racing with joy. It may seem unusual to wait until the evening hours for the wedding ceremony, but here, nature sets the pace.

August 10, 2019, was our big day. We celebrated our barn wedding with 100 guests at the Gauklerhof. We chose a pink-and-black color scheme. I’ve always been a fan of soft pink—but not of cheesy, run-of-the-mill weddings. The combination with black not only added that certain something but also brought a touch of provocation into play, and we liked that. After all, as soon as we mentioned a non-traditional wedding ceremony, some people gave us strange looks. With an unconventional color scheme, we wanted to emphasize once again that getting married these days no longer means you have to stick to traditions or rules.

“Black and White”—a concept centered on this theme is rich in contrast, timeless, and, for some, perhaps surprisingly versatile. In this wedding inspiration shoot, the concept was given a modern twist by incorporating complementary accents. Accessories—such as the casual sunglasses or the bride’s bag—and the clean, minimalist ambiance of the Montforthaus transform this photo series into a cohesive, modern, and equally stylish and elegant source of inspiration for engaged couples.

View GalleryWithout a doubt, it’s the unmistakable style of our bridal couples. They exude class, are authentic, and are perfectly coordinated. Our bridal couples are our pride and joy. The focus is on the beauty of the bride and groom, which is highlighted by a stylish wedding dress and a perfectly tailored suit. Our motto is: Never too much! We love the idea of that moment when you first see each other at the wedding, without having known anything about the other’s outfit. And the fact that you’ll recognize at first glance just how much thought went into coordinating your styles. Our consultants are trained to identify your best features, wishes, and needs, and to work with you to select your dream outfits. We’re a young, open-minded, and contemporary team, and we want to bring you a few more tears of joy. It moves us every single time we can help make that happen. But ideally, those first tears should start flowing while you’re still shopping. Our new studio, with its spacious bridal and groom’s rooms, drinks, and treats (just like during our Deluxe Shopping Appointment), perfectly captures the private shopping experience.
We were dressed exactly to our taste. My wife wore a gorgeous, simple silk dress with an open back, and I wore a casual, sporty custom-tailored suit in dark royal blue. Our outfits were elegant and minimalist, yet featuring sophisticated details. I still get goosebumps today when I think about how she stepped out of that old red Mercedes and her radiance outshone everything else…
Boho and vintage styles have dominated the market for many years. That trend is now slowly fading, and outfits are becoming more elegant again. The hippie wedding dress is disappearing, though some of the natural and minimalist elements remain. Lace is becoming more delicate again, and dresses are lighter, softer, and more comfortable to wear. “Boho-glam” is the buzzword among brides-to-be in 2022. Many dresses captivate with a color palette of ivory and pastel shades. There’s also a growing trend toward sustainability across the industry. In bridal fashion, this means two-piece ensembles, fabrics made from natural fibers, and European designers and production. For grooms’ suits, this translates to exceptionally well-tailored, made-to-measure suits from Milan or Barcelona, with a light structure and crafted from the finest wool—timeless suits that can be worn long after the wedding.
Although this is a challenging time for all wedding service providers, one thing is particularly clear: A wedding is and always will be one of the most important events in life, and nothing in the world can change that. The importance of a beautiful celebration and a dreamlike wedding dress or suit remains as strong as ever. Couples getting married now feel an even greater desire for their wedding to be exceptionally beautiful. It is and will always be one of—if not the—most important events in a couple’s life.
