Love, as the French philosopher Voltaire once said, is a fabric woven by nature and embroidered by the imagination. This outdoor wedding on the Old Rhine takes us back to the loom—surrounded by lush greenery, we celebrate a wedding ceremony at sunset.
The water’s surface shimmers golden behind the wedding arch, while the bride and groom stand facing each other, their hearts racing with joy. It may seem unusual to wait until the evening hours for the wedding ceremony, but here, nature sets the pace.
The entire wedding follows its rhythm. Thus, the eye takes in only native, seasonal flowers, which—combined with dried flowers—blend beautifully into the color scheme of sage green and dusty blue. The flowers adorning the modern, understated wedding cake are wired together, allowing them to be reused as decorative elements after the wedding.
In fact, a spirit of sustainability permeates many aspects of the event. Only eco-friendly cosmetics were used for the natural bridal makeup. The wedding candle, made of concrete and soy wax, can be refilled again and again or even planted in. The herb pots, which serve as fragrant decorations, will later find a home in the couple’s house, and even the two-piece wedding dress can be mixed and matched and worn again and again.
Just as embroidery on the fabric of love was to Voltaire, so too are the many loving details at this wedding that lend it a special touch: On the festively decorated table beneath the trees, guests find small glasses filled with dandelions. Shepherd’s crooks make the string of lights float above the table like hundreds of tiny fireflies, and just a few meters away, the chill-out area offers an atmospheric retreat.
