A night in Marrakesh—that sounds like dancing, good food, and vibrant colors. But a wedding abroad also involves a lot of extra effort, not to mention the environmental impact of traveling there and back. Hmm… a sustainable destination wedding without getting on a plane—that would be perfect! The following photo series shows not one—no, two interpretations of a Morocco-inspired wedding.

The moment you hold this wedding stationery in your hands, it’s immediately clear: what follows is anything but ordinary. A rich shade of blue, paired with pastel greens and purples, accented by bold splashes of orange and salmon. On top of that, patterns reminiscent of flowers. The stationery comes in a variety of shapes, and bold, sweeping lines evoke Arabic script. Copper wax seals with tassels in the same color adorn the blue paper. Laser-cut technology and gold accents add the finishing touches to this wedding stationery.

With its Byzantine-inspired architecture, round windows, and abundant ornamentation, the museum’s walls evoke Moroccan palaces. With hidden little courtyards reminiscent of riads—a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an inner courtyard or garden—and sprawling parks with mature trees, you’ll forget in seconds that you’re in the middle of the city and right next to Vienna’s main train station.

This inspiration features both a bride in the classic Moroccan wedding colors of gold and white and a modern bride with boho vibes.

The wedding dress in the classic interpretation is distinguished above all by its golden ornamental lace. The dress is form-fitting, with narrow straps climbing over the shoulders like delicate vines. The distinctive veil, in a warm shade, fades downward into an innocent white, and the golden headpiece literally puts the crown on this bride’s outfit. The makeup—with accentuated eyes, thick lashes, a golden shimmer on the eyelids, and dark lips—blends seamlessly into the look.

This modern take on the Moroccan bridal look features a two-piece ensemble consisting of a crop top and a knee-length skirt. Her head is adorned with a colorful floral wreath. The makeup emphasizes the eyes with dark colors like brown and black, while the lips are painted a soft shade of red. This modern bride exudes a combination of summer and freedom, lending the concept a warm, youthful freshness.

In Morocco, celebrations are full of color. Wedding florals therefore feature an abundance of bold colors: turquoise, purple, pink, orange, red, and yellow. Unique artichokes serve as highlights, accompanied by peacock feathers, palm fronds, and eucalyptus. This creative diversity reflects Morocco’s lively and colorful atmosphere and invites guests to celebrate with gusto.

The bridesmaids wear a variety of colorful dresses, paired with matching accessories and unique floral arrangements.

The rectangular, golden arch is adorned with fabrics in soft colors. A magnificent floral arrangement adds to the display. Large lanterns have been repurposed and now elevate the splendor of the flowers. Hanging, round lampshades complete the overall look and, with their unique style, create just the right atmosphere.

No effort was spared when it came to the wedding cake either—the result was two wonderful creations that are a source of pride. The classic version is a magnificent, elaborately decorated cake in gold and white with botanical accents. The modern version of the wedding cake is a work of art in turquoise and orange with gold accents—set on a vintage desk that couldn’t be a better color match. In addition, small exotic treats adorned with flowers and citrus fruits are arranged on the shiny round tables.

The white cards on the seating chart are shaped like little clouds. They assign seats to the wedding guests. The combination with colorful tassels evokes a Moroccan spirit, while the black background perfectly showcases the cards.

The warm red tablecloth serves as the foundation for the Mediterranean touch, featuring a variety of vibrant colors such as blue, turquoise, lilac, violet, yellow, and pink. The look is complemented by golden accents that add a touch of elegance. Blue-patterned plates and elegant cloth napkins with gold accents adorn the table. Menu cards with wax seals and cords underscore the cohesive theme.

The wedding day is now giving way to an evening of celebration, and the guests are gathering at the bar. The bartender is creatively transforming Austrian gin and dry ice into impressive drinks. The party is in full swing, and as the guests bid farewell, the sun bestows a few warm rays on the newlyweds and creates a breathtaking atmosphere of light.

This inspiration places a special emphasis on sustainable decor and rental furniture. Four different suppliers in Vienna and Graz were personally selected for this project, and we traveled to each location to pick up the pieces. This effort really paid off. The result is a colorful wedding inspiration filled with attention to detail that appeals to both couples who prefer a more classic style and those who want to have an unconventional wedding.
