A Japanese-inspired spring wedding in the Salzkammergut

Sometimes love brings together not only two people, but also two cultures. That was certainly the case for Lisa Marie and Kenta. Their intimate, international spring wedding took place in the Salzkammergut and was designed to introduce guests to the region’s highlights while also incorporating elements of Japanese culture.

This was incorporated into the wedding design with many lovely, small details. For example, the wedding cake was decorated with beautifully sculpted cherry blossoms, while a backdrop of origami cranes provided the perfect setting for it. Cranes symbolize a long life and are therefore often given as gifts at weddings.

The wedding ceremony took place at Ort Castle, followed by a reception on Lake Traunsee. The celebration continued later at Villa Toscana. As a special touch, the tables for the evening dinner were not numbered but marked with hand-painted Japanese characters. Each character represented a different animal and was meant to grant the newlyweds special wishes, such as health or prosperity.

This Japanese-inspired wedding shows how cultures can be beautifully blended using simple elements. As the groom carries his bride over the threshold, a wedding like this carries love around the globe.
