How did you get into this line of work?
I have some very dear friends to thank for the fact that I became a wedding planner. I come from the events industry, so it was only natural that I’d eagerly help out with my friends’ weddings. One thing led to another, and eventually I signed up for training to become a wedding planner.
What trends are emerging right now?
As a wedding planner, it’s naturally my job to stay up to date on trends. But I also see it as my responsibility to work with the bride and groom to create a unique and personalized wedding concept, completely independent of trends. I’m not a fan of “copy-and-paste” weddings at all!
What do you love about the wedding industry?
Every wedding is different, and we wedding service providers have the wonderful task of organizing an unforgettable and unique celebration. It’s something truly special to accompany a couple through the planning process and on their wedding day. I’m right in the thick of it when two lovers take that step into a future together!
How would you like to get married yourself?
I think for us it would be a micro-wedding—a small, intimate celebration with our closest friends.
