View GalleryWhen we started our family a few years ago, I knew I wanted to make a career change. My goal was to find something where I could put to use everything I’d learned in fashion sales. I wanted to do something that would make people’s lives easier—and that would bring joy not only to them but also to me, from the bottom of my heart. A question from my sister ended up being the answer to my career search: “Why don’t you start your own business as a wedding planner?” It took exactly one car ride—filled with thoughts—from Bad Ischl to Salzburg, and I was set on it. I completed my training with Verena Kindermann at the Austrian Wedding Planner Academy, and afterward I founded my company, “glory days WEDDINGS.”
Goodquestion… I’m someone who thinks “outside the box.” “Can’t be done” isn’t in my vocabulary. I love tackling challenging situations or requests with creative solutions and approaches. Unconventional… and I’m happy to live by the motto: “Where there’s a wedding planner, there’s a way.” My focus is on my couples’ personally defined dream weddings. I stand behind their decisions 100% and represent that to the outside world as well. My couples can count on me to not only take care of every little detail but also to attend to guests of all ages. While the wedding schedule is, of course, planned, there’s plenty of flexibility to adapt to the mood, weather, and other factors. No one should feel like they’re being driven by a to-do list. Last-minute planning can be a challenge, but I’m happy to take it on.
Suchpowerful emotions! Whether it’s the excitement leading up to the big day, the anticipation while getting ready and during the first look, the tentative walk down the aisle, or the moment when the tension finally eases and the whole event turns into a relaxed party. I love it when, after an intense planning phase, the big day has finally arrived. Every piece of the plan comes together, every vendor adds their own personal touch, and you get to see the beaming faces of the bride and groom. Motivated vendors who love what they do can create something truly amazing together!
WhatI’ve noticed for some time now is that couples are no longer focused on inviting as many guests as possible to their wedding, but rather on inviting the right people—those who are important to them. There’s a strong emphasis on quality and unique touches. Of course, social media showcases many trends, such as boho, dried flowers, naked cakes, and so on—but it’s still always important for couples to stay true to themselves and their personal style.
First,we had a small, intimate civil ceremony with our kids. It was a fun and relaxed Friday the 13th. Half a year later, we rented a chalet and celebrated the whole weekend with our closest loved ones. On Friday evening, we had a bachelor and bachelorette party with currywurst and champagne, and smashed plenty of china on the floor—including a group cleanup. While we were getting ready as bride and groom the next day, the chalet was being prepared for the wedding reception and the lively garden barbecue. Our emotional and very personal non-religious wedding ceremony took place in a castle, as did the champagne reception that followed. We drove back to the chalet in a convoy and danced and celebrated exuberantly until 5:30 in the morning. Even a wedding crasher made an appearance.
Don’t letothers influence you too much, because this is about you, your love, and your wishes! You’ll make the right decisions for yourselves. Enjoy this exciting and thrilling time. Allow yourselves to feel the emotions that may overwhelm you—they’ll likely be some of the most emotional moments of your lives. Never forget to have fun even while you’re planning, and enjoy your big day to the fullest—perhaps with the help of a professional wedding planner. And if you ever can’t make up your minds or things get too stressful, set the planning aside, hug each other, and do something you both enjoy.
