When you think of a winter wedding, the festive nature of the occasion usually brings Christmas-themed elements to mind right away: from fir branches and pinecones to deer—and, last but not least, the colors red and gold. Perhaps you also picture a cabin deep in the snow on a mountain and a white, glistening landscape. But this impressive, cliché-free photo series titled “Winter Blues” proves that a wedding during the cold season can work even beyond these wintery clichés and entirely without Christmas kitsch.
A clear lake in the mountains of the Salzkammergut served as the starting point for the design of this wonderful wedding inspiration. The various shades of blue in the landscape were incorporated into the color scheme and combined with subtle tones and natural, seasonal materials: reeds, pampas grass, brunia, dried berries, and branches blend perfectly into the lovingly planned wedding design, and at the wedding table, numerous twinkling lights create a cozy atmosphere.
The stationery was also designed to match the overall theme and complemented with delicate, minimalist elements. Delicate mother-of-pearl discs served as place cards, perfectly emphasizing the icy look. The French floral lace on the wedding dress, lovingly embroidered with angora wool thread, also fits wonderfully with the cozy atmosphere of this inspiration.
