An old mansion, chandeliers, stucco ceilings, a grand piano, and pen-and-ink drawings of the historic city of Salzburg—what sounds like a scene from a *Sissi* movie after the wedding turns out, in this styled shoot, to be a modern wedding ceremony that proves: it’s still possible to have an elegant wedding.
Unlike boho and more minimalist wedding designs, this approach doesn’t sacrifice opulence and elegance to highlight the couple’s personality. Instead, their character serves as a modern counterpart to the classically chic wedding look. The result is a wedding of stylistic contrasts that feels as extraordinary as the unconventional couple tying the knot here: A non-traditional wedding vow exchange held in an old chapel. A stylish wedding dress paired with numerous tattoos. Classic orchids, philodendrons, and hanging lanterns, reimagined as a floral curtain serving as the backdrop. An elegant color palette of cream, white, and gold, with black serving as a modern counterpoint. The silhouette of Salzburg as a graphic element, accented with gold leaf and wax seals on one hand, and clean geometric shapes on the other. A wedding cake featuring classically refined elements, yet in an unusually opulent, tall, and equally geometric form.
The Renaissance of Classic—or, as it’s known, Modern Classic.
