Melanie, a freelance wedding officiant from Carinthia and Styria, is convinced that an authentic, personalized wedding ceremony isn’t simply a chronological retelling of your story—from when you first met to the marriage proposal. It’s the little things you take for granted, your personal quirks, and the shared experiences in between that truly define you and your relationship. These are exactly the things Melanie wants to discover together with you. During personal conversations, she listens attentively, asks questions, and enjoys looking for stories that only become apparent at second glance.
A non-religious wedding ceremony with Melanie doesn’t follow a set template or any “that’s just how it’s done” rules. Time-honored traditions have just as much a place as new ideas and modern inspirations—as long as they hold meaning for you. Instead of a perfectly staged event, Melanie creates a setting for genuine, authentic moments. You’re welcome to laugh heartily, shed a tear of joy, and even surprise each other now and then. Her speeches are as spontaneous as possible—personal, lively, and relatable. For her, humor is just as much a part of it as deep emotions. The focus is always on you as the bride and groom, your unique connection, and the people with whom you’re celebrating this day.
The collaboration with “Mit Worten” doesn’t start with a booking form. Melanie wants to get to know you personally first. The most important question is: “Do we really have something to share with each other?” If this quickly leads to a trusting conversation, the foundation for a personalized ceremony is laid. On your wedding day, Melanie knows the flow of the event, sets the stage, and—with her calm demeanor—keeps an eye on what’s needed in the moment. This allows you to truly feel and experience the moment, rather than worrying about whether everything is going “right.” True to Melanie’s motto: “So, let me tell your story!” Passionate. Vibrant. Unmistakable.

In the heart of the picturesque Lavant Valley in Carinthia, a unique wedding takes place, transporting guests into a world of authenticity, down-to-earth charm, and a rediscovery by the bride and groom of the joy found in Carinthian traditions. At the historic Lichtengraben Castle estate, Carinthia shows itself from its most beautiful side—here, surrounded by rural charm and a deep connection to nature, the bride and groom can unite in love for eternity.

Nestled among the rolling hills of the vineyards stands a historic wedding venue—the majestic Taggenbrunn Castle—surrounded by the untamed beauty of nature. A moment filled with love and trust. At the heart of this wedding inspiration is a symbol that captures precisely this moment: the key to eternity.

I want to get to know who you are, how you interact with each other, and whether we really have something to talk about. I’d like this to be a casual conversation that feels light and carefree. We can laugh, ask questions, and even stray from the topic every now and then. After all, by sharing your story, you’re entrusting me with a lot of personal details. For me to discover the moments—both big and small—within that story, one thing is essential: trust. By the end, I want you to go home feeling good and to know me and my work a little better. That way, you can figure out if it feels right to entrust me with your thoughts and feelings.
For me, the answer is right there in the name: A non-traditional wedding ceremony can truly be free. Free from a predetermined schedule and from program elements that are included simply because “that’s just what you do at a wedding.” At the same time, not everything has to be new or extraordinary. Traditions can have their place just as much as modern elements and new ideas. You can exchange personal wedding vows, incorporate a meaningful ritual, or consciously choose not to include one. What matters isn’t what we do, but why we do it. As your officiant, a non-traditional wedding ceremony gives me the opportunity to turn to the right chapters in the story that your relationship has already written. On this day, I’m not writing a new story. I’m telling yours.
My couples already bring that special something to the table. My job is to discover exactly that: personal quirks, little mishaps, running gags, shared experiences, and all the little things you take for granted that make you who you are as a couple. I’m particularly interested in the moments in between and the stories behind the stories. This gives rise to spontaneously spoken ceremonies filled with lightheartedness, genuine emotions, and just the right touch of humor. As your officiant, I’m present without making myself the center of attention. My custom wedding ceremonies are unique because the people in them are unique. That’s exactly what I want to make visible and tangible through my words.
