Frequently Asked Questions About beherzt

How did you get into your line of work?

In 2017, I had the privilege of experiencing my own independent wedding ceremony—a day filled with love and connection that changed my life. A few weeks later, a friend asked me if I could imagine becoming an independent wedding officiant myself. I couldn’t get the idea out of my head. Through a friend who is a wedding photographer, I connected with my first couple—and quickly realized: I had found my calling.
From the very beginning, it was important to me not to rely on pre-packaged templates, but to design ceremonies that truly reflect each couple. Today, “beherzt” is more than just planning a ceremony—it’s an invitation to celebrate the depth of your own love. With sensitivity and an eye for detail, I create moments that will be cherished long after the wedding day is over.

What do you like about the wedding industry?

What inspires me about the wedding industry is the palpable love, the deep bond between couples and their loved ones, and the many thoughtful details that make a day filled with joy, excitement, and genuine emotions truly unforgettable.

What wedding trend do you see?

There’s a clear trend toward weddings outside the traditional summer months—fall, in particular, is becoming increasingly popular. In addition, many couples are opting for “unplugged weddings,” where certain moments are intentionally made cell-phone-free so that guests can experience the atmosphere more fully and be truly present.

How did you get married?

We had a non-religious wedding right on the lakeshore, followed by a relaxed summer celebration with our loved ones. Since neither of us follows a particular faith, it was important to us that our values and our story take center stage. Our ceremony was open-hearted and honest—reflecting all the facets of our relationship, not just the beautiful moments. For us, saying “I do” meant accepting each other for everything that makes us who we are. As die-hard tattoo fans, we had our rings tattooed live right after the ceremony—a “double twist” that forever immortalizes our love for New Zealand and Maori culture.
