The Freudenhaus is a mobile theater tent that has been in existence since 2004 and, over the years, has helped shape and influence the cultural scene in Vorarlberg at various locations in Bregenz and Lustenau. Since 2016, this unique venue has had a permanent home in Lustenau and opens its doors not only for extraordinary concerts, contemporary circus arts, performances, theater, and cabaret, but also for special wedding celebrations.
The tent, which is nearly 500 m² in size, can accommodate wedding receptions for up to 300 guests, depending on the seating arrangement. The stage, equipped with excellent lighting and sound systems, is perfectly set up for any type of wedding band. Well-maintained restrooms and a fully equipped food service area are available on-site—but you’re also welcome to bring your own catering for the food. For getting ready, you can use the artists’ dressing rooms, which are housed in cool shipping containers.

How did you get into this line of work?
I’ve always been drawn to theevents industry. I finally took the plunge after planning my own wedding. I got married at the Freudenhaus myself in 2017, and today, four years later, I have the privilege of running it.
What do you love about the wedding industry?
Thediverse people and their equally diverse visions of a wedding. Many couples have similar ideas or follow trends, but ultimately, every wedding is always something very personal and unique.
What makes the Freudenhaus so special as a wedding venue?
TheFreudenhaus simply has an absolutely indescribable charm. Even after all these years of knowing the venue, I still get that brief “wow” moment every time I walk into the room.
How did you get married?
As I mentioned at the beginning, wealso got married at the Freudenhaus. As huge festival fans, we obviously didn’t have to look far for a theme for our wedding. We threw a huge wedding festival with its own name, tickets, festival wristbands, merchandise, food trucks, a band, and DJs—and the Freudenhaus was the perfect venue for it!
