About Schmuck-Werkstatt

For over ten years, couples have been able to craft their own wedding rings at the Natters Jewelry Workshop. For master goldsmith Barbara Dummer, the work is just as exciting as it was on the very first day, because every couple is special and every ring is one-of-a-kind.

During a no-obligation introductory session, Barbara will show you many different designs, materials, and finishes. She’ll also tell you about sustainable and ethically sourced metals, and you’ll learn about various techniques for making rings.

During the wedding ring workshop, Barbara will provide you with personalized attention. You’ll remember these special moments for the rest of your lives every time you look at your wedding rings, which is why the master goldsmith creates a comfortable atmosphere and takes plenty of time to guide you through the process. Just because you’re making your rings yourselves doesn’t mean they’ll look simple. Basically, any idea can be brought to life, and Barbara can even add gemstones or an engraving to your rings upon request.

Through this loving and close collaboration, we create wedding rings that meet—or even exceed—all your expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions for Schmuck-Werkstatt

How did you get into your line of work?

I wanted to become a goldsmith when I was 15, but unfortunately I couldn’t find an apprenticeship at the time. After completing an apprenticeship as a hairdresser, a series of fortunate coincidences made it possible, and I began my apprenticeship as a goldsmith at the Norz company in Innsbruck. In 2006, I completed my training by passing the master craftsman’s exam.

What do you like about the wedding industry?

Working in the wedding industry is simply a joy, because you’re always surrounded by people who want to share their happiness with others. With my rings, I get to give the bride and groom a wonderful experience and a unique memory that will hopefully stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Are there any current trends in wedding rings?

When it comes to rings crafted by the bride and groom themselves, it’s very difficult to speak of trends, since there are virtually no limits to the design possibilities. What has become apparent in recent years, however, is that rings are once again becoming more delicate and are increasingly being crafted in classic yellow gold.

How did you get married?

We got married in 1991, and to me, everything was perfect back then. The wedding was kept fairly simple, without a lot of frills. For that time, I wore a simple dress sewn by my mother-in-law.
