For this wedding inspiration, we headed to Innsbruck’s Old Town. But instead of being drawn to the shopping or sightseeing opportunities, we were drawn to the history. Over the past centuries, countless wonderful stories worth telling have unfolded behind these windows, and with this wedding, there will be one more.
View GalleryIt might sound a bit cliché, but ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a wedding planner. Back then, though, people told me that wasn’t a “real job.” But about 20 years later, I made my childhood dream come true, and I’ve now been working successfully as a wedding planner in Tyrol for twelve years—and it’s even my full-time job now. Before that, I spent several years in the hospitality industry, where I worked primarily in events. Even though it wasn’t always easy, I’m glad I took that step. I can proudly say that I’ve turned my passion into my career—and my career is my calling!
A wedding is a celebration of love and a very joyful occasion in the lives of two people. That’s why you’re surrounded by so many cheerful people. Whether they’re other service providers or the guests—most of them are in a good mood, and everyone wants to help the couple have a wonderful celebration. I always find this positive vibe so great and motivating, even in the run-up to the wedding.
For my couples, it’s definitely “small and intimate” or “quality over quantity.” Even before the pandemic, my couples tried to focus on what really matters and celebrate with their loved ones in a smaller circle. This trend has certainly been amplified by the pandemic, because couples are asking themselves: Do we really need 150 guests? Or would 50 guests perhaps “suffice”—but with only our closest loved ones present—allowing us to book a more unique venue or treat ourselves to a few extras? In addition, there’s a renewed emphasis on regionality.
We’ve been living together as a couple for almost 17 years. But if we ever do decide to tie the knot officially, it’ll definitely be in Tuscany at a beautiful winery. Preferably in October, because the colors are so gorgeous then and you can take some amazing photos. We love the Italian vibe, the wine, the food… this is where we’d spend a wonderful weekend with our loved ones.
