For over ten years now, DJs Bastian Gumilar and Nicolas Kreil have been getting Vorarlberg on the dance floor as “Westwind”—until now as a successful deep house duo at their home club, “Vakanz,” in Dornbirn. Recognizing the need for a breath of fresh air in the Vorarlberg wedding DJ scene, they’ve also been performing at weddings since 2018 as “lutt & lässig”—playing tracks from a wide variety of genres and decades.
To give you a taste of what’s to come, the young DJs will create a mixtape perfectly tailored to your musical preferences before your wedding. On your special evening, they’ll serve up not just pre-made playlists of MP3s, but lovingly curated sets featuring high-quality files and even real vinyl records. Plus, they’re more than happy to stay until the end of the celebration at no extra charge—no matter how long it lasts! Due to the high volume of requests, they’ve now founded an entire collective of cool, young DJs from Vorarlberg—so they can cover just about every date.

August 10, 2019, was our big day. We celebrated our barn wedding with 100 guests at the Gauklerhof. We chose a pink-and-black color scheme. I’ve always been a fan of soft pink—but not of cheesy, run-of-the-mill weddings. The combination with black not only added that certain something but also brought a touch of provocation into play, and we liked that. After all, as soon as we mentioned a non-traditional wedding ceremony, some people gave us strange looks. With an unconventional color scheme, we wanted to emphasize once again that getting married these days no longer means you have to stick to traditions or rules.
View GalleryThrough our collaboration with Ländle Wedding, we learned that many couples have trouble finding young, modern DJs for their weddings in the Ländle region. We recognized the need for a breath of fresh air and quickly realized that we, too, had been missing this wonderful change of pace.
It’s very important to distinguish between bands and DJs and to recognize their respective advantages. As DJs, we can cater 100% to the couples’ music preferences—but with a band, the entertainment value for the guests is, of course, many times higher. However, if there isn’t enough space for a band or the budget is too tight, that’s where we come in.
It’s definitely our passion for great music! We both grew up with music. Thanks to his family business (a specialty store for hi-fi and related products), Nicolas learned from a young age what really matters when it comes to perfect sound. On your special evening, we won’t just play pre-made playlists of MP3s—we’ll serve up sets lovingly curated to your wishes and preferences, featuring high-quality digital files and even vinyl records.
We were so surprised by the sheer number of requests we received last year that we’ve since founded an entire DJ collective. Now, whenever we’re fully booked, we act as a sort of agency to connect clients with our many fellow DJs, allowing us to easily pass every request on to the best possible candidates.
