For nearly two decades, DJ James Jive has been delighting people with music, putting smiles on their faces, and getting their hips moving. His musical journey began in bars and clubs, where he explored his love for musical diversity—from (punk) rock to hip-hop to electro swing.
For about ten years now, his focus has been on weddings. Here, James Jive combines his extensive knowledge of genres and musical eras with his experience as a reliable partner for every musical moment. Whether it’s the wedding ceremony, the reception, the first dance, or the party—he supports bridal couples with advice and assistance and also ensures the right equipment for every venue, whether indoor, outdoor, in a small room, or a large hall.
Thanks to his flexibility and professionalism, he is able to provide the perfect musical accompaniment for any situation—and ensure that guests of all ages enjoy an unforgettable experience. As a trained drummer, James Jive further enriches his DJ sets with live drumming or, upon request, with additional musicians such as a saxophonist or cellist. This creates special highlights that guarantee a fantastic atmosphere and packed dance floors.

What kind of music will you play at the wedding?
That depends entirely on you and your guests. I’m well-versed in all genres of music and ready to play anything your heart desires—from disco and rock to hip-hop and house, all the way to electro swing and drum ’n’ bass. We’ll discuss your musical preferences, must-play songs, and songs to avoid beforehand—ideally during a face-to-face meeting. During the party, I’ll adapt flexibly to the mood of the moment to make sure I play the right song at the right time.
Do you take music requests, too?
Yes, of course! Especially at weddings, I actually encourage you to make music requests. They give me an even better sense of what you and your guests enjoy, which allows me to tailor my playlist even better to your wedding party and the atmosphere of the moment.
Are you bringing your own equipment?
Yes, I have professional sound and lighting equipment for both small and large weddings. I'll discuss the details of your wedding venue with you in advance and bring the appropriate equipment.
Can you also handle the music during the wedding ceremony or the reception?
Of course. If you’d like, I’d be happy to provide musical accompaniment throughout your entire wedding day—from the ceremony to the reception and on to the party. I’ll make sure the music is just right for every moment. After all, when the DJ sets the mood with great background music in the afternoon, it perfectly paves the way for a lively dance party in the evening.
Do you also do hosting or entertainment?
If desired, I can provide low-key emcee services (e.g., for the wedding dance or games). However, the music and the atmosphere always take center stage.
