Vegan Wedding: Here's How to Plan a Vegan Wedding!
Good news for all vegans: There are more and more wedding vendors and venues that cater to a vegan lifestyle and have already hosted vegan weddings. Just a few years ago, it was incredibly difficult to find a bakery that made wedding cakes with specific ingredients. The trend toward vegetarian and vegan lifestyles makes planning a vegan wedding a lot easier!
This article covers the following topics:

Compromise as the key.
You know you want a vegan wedding. What’s making you hesitate is the fact that your partner isn’t vegan and most of your guests don’t eat vegan? Well, you should have your partner on your side—he or she doesn’t have to be vegan, but your partner should be on board with the idea.
When it comes to the guests, however, we think it’s a bit of a different story. Most wedding guests don’t know what will be served for lunch or dinner. And no one complains about it beforehand. So why not create a surprise with a truly elaborate vegan wedding menu?
After all, vegan menus have long since moved beyond just tofu and kale. For example, if you serve vegan burgers with fries, followed by a vegan chocolate mousse or brownies, you’re sure to win over a lot of fans! And since compromise is always the key to keeping everyone happy, maybe you could let guests choose between vegan and vegetarian options.
Openness wins!
When looking for vegan-friendly venues, caterers, bakeries, and other service providers, it’s a good idea to start by searching in your immediate area. Some wedding service providers offer specifically vegan options, while with others you’ll need to ask. Be sure to do that! Chefs and bakers are often happy to take on a new challenge. Just schedule a tasting and give them the trust they need—after all, openness works best when it goes both ways.
Our #pro-tip: Bring a friend who isn’t vegan to the tasting. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee that every guest will like it, but at least you’ll have gotten a meat-eater’s opinion.

The Beverage Menu: A Challenge.
Vegans know that wine, sparkling wine, and even fruit juices aren’t always vegan. Many beverages contain fining agents such as gelatin, egg whites, or fish bladders. However, well-stocked beverage retailers or regional winemakers are aware of this and can give you clear recommendations.
All things vegan.
We've talked a lot about food and drink, but for the wedding concept to work, it shouldn't just be about the vegan wedding cake and the wine list. You should also pay attention to these vegan details:
- Wildflowers, linen napkins, and soy wax candles for table decorations
- Vegan wedding dresses and wedding outfits! These should be made without real silk; alternatives include, for example, locally sourced cotton lace or vegan chiffon.
- Vegan party favors: flower seeds, small plants, vegan chocolate, or homemade soaps
- Vegan Beauty: Cruelty-free and vegan cosmetics and hair care products
