Just like with a church wedding, you must have your marriage legally registered at the civil registry office. A non-religious wedding ceremony is simply a ceremony for you and your guests—it has no legal standing.
Can a non-religious wedding ceremony take place anywhere?
Yes! We’re completely flexible when it comes to the place, time, and location. I always tailor the ceremony to my couples’ wishes. Whether it’s in the mountains, on an island, in your own backyard, or at any other location you’d like—we can hold the ceremony wherever you want. Themed weddings? Absolutely! When it comes to non-religious wedding ceremonies, we’re flexible and happy to accommodate our couples’ wishes.
How much does a non-religious wedding ceremony cost?
There are slight differences among the speakers. Each couple receives a personalized quote from me that covers all the key elements of the wedding ceremony and includes a fixed price with no additional charges. In general, each wedding ceremony requires up to 30 hours of preparation (initial consultation, detailed discussion, questionnaires, speech, and the day of the ceremony).
What happens during a non-religious wedding ceremony?
Before you decide to book me as your wedding officiant, let’s get to know each other during a no-obligation initial consultation. If you choose me, we’ll have a detailed consultation at your home about four months before the wedding—we’ll set aside a good 1.5 hours for this. You’ll tell me about how you met, your ups and downs, your quirks, and the best parts of your relationship. Together, we’ll develop your rituals. And to top it all off, the ceremony will be accompanied by music. All of this comes together to form your wedding ceremony, which I write individually for each couple. I have my own equipment (speaker, microphone) that can run on battery power for several hours without needing an electrical outlet. This means we’re completely flexible in terms of location.
