Questions About the Text
Why was my text changed?
Because it is our standard of quality that all texts in our wedding books are consistent in style. We rarely use a submitted text verbatim. All texts always go through our editing process. We ensure they are written from the same perspective and do not use the formal “Sie” form when addressing our readers. We also rewrite overly judgmental or promotional phrasing (e.g., “the best photographer” or “Book now!”). And even with texts that are already perfect, minor adjustments are sometimes necessary to achieve a beautiful layout with as few hyphenations as possible—in such cases, individual words are deleted, added, or replaced with longer or shorter synonyms that convey the same meaning.
I'd like to submit a new text. Is that possible?
Please let us know which specific parts of the text still need adjustment—we’ll be happy to make the changes. Replacing the entire text again is not possible at no cost, since it would then have to go through the editing and layout process in the graphic design department all over again!
How should I/am I allowed to submit changes to the text?
We’d prefer it if you simply let us know via email which specific parts of the text still need adjustment. We’ll be happy to make those changes. You’re also welcome to add your requested changes as comments in the PDF. Just please don’t do one thing: don’t send us the entire text again, as it will then have to go through the editing and typesetting process in the graphics department all over again.
I'd like to change the headline/subline. Is that possible?
For all providers, the headline is always automatically set to the company name and, for the sake of consistency, cannot be modified or supplemented with slogans, etc. The subtitle (the text above the headline) is always automatically set to the category name for all providers and, for the sake of consistency and clarity for the reader, cannot be modified.
Can I have my headline in color or in a different font?
To ensure a calm, pleasant design, the layouts in our book are consistent. We chose a simple black font because this is the only way to guarantee that the colors of the photos won’t clash with the design colors, regardless of the provider.
Is it possible to highlight individual words in a block of text (e.g., in bold, italics, or color)?
To prevent this feature from being overused, we have decided not to offer it. Without such badges, we can also preserve our clean, consistent design.
Why wasn't my company name written in all capital letters?
In the headline, we’d like to avoid using all-caps for longer words whenever possible, as they come across as very aggressive or intrusive and don’t look stylish in the font we’ve chosen. In the body text, words written entirely in all caps disrupt the overall look and the flow of the text.
Can I choose whether my text block is centered, left-aligned, or justified?
Unfortunately, no. The alignment of the text depends on the layout. Our guidelines are consistent in this regard.
May I reuse this text?
If we have edited, reworded, or rewritten your text, you may only reuse it for your own media. Sharing it verbatim with third parties (other platforms, newspapers, etc.) is not permitted, and we check for this regularly. We invest a lot of time in editing, and it’s not fair if third parties can then save themselves that effort by having you hand over our work to them. Thank you for your understanding!
Why are the pronouns (du/euch) capitalized?
Throughout the book, we consistently write pronouns in lowercase, as this does not disrupt the flow of reading as much. Capitalizing pronouns is also outdated; in fact, this style is now used almost exclusively in letters.
Why aren't readers addressed formally?
Our copy is always written from a neutral narrative perspective (third person) so that it doesn’t seem as though you’re applying for the job yourself. For this reason, we use our own corporate language: a personal, approachable way of addressing the target audience.
Why is the web domain listed without "www"?
On the one hand, for space reasons; on the other hand, because the notation without "www" is already a common way of referring to the address (since it can also be accessed in a browser without "www"). Exception: For special domain extensions (e.g., .music or .wien), since it is not immediately apparent that these are web domains.
Can we add Instagram or Facebook as well?
Due to space constraints and to ensure the information remains up-to-date (especially on Instagram, where profile names are often changed), links to Instagram and Facebook are not included in the book.
Questions About the Pictures
Why weren't all of my photos used?
The number of images used depends primarily on the package you’ve booked (Bellini, Cosmopolitan, Manhattan)—as already described in the offer and on the upload form. Our graphic design team also decides how many images to place in each layout based on text length, color harmony, and image quality.

For the Bellini entry, only 1–3 images are allowed, though we really do not recommend using 3 images. Three images can only be included here if the text is shortened to just 2 sentences and all images are in landscape orientation. Placing 4 or 5 images is only possible with the Cosmopolitan layout.

LESS IS MORE! For our new book, our creative direction calls for a fine art layout with plenty of white space, which is why we prefer to use fewer images but make them larger (and thus more impactful).
Why weren't the pictures I sent used?
If we receive images that are unusable due to quality (resolution) issues or for other reasons, our graphics team will use images from the respective provider that we already have on file, provided they are more suitable. If you do not agree with this, please feel free to send us new images of higher quality (resolution).
Can I replace the images again?
Replacing 1–2 images is no problem. In such cases, please let us know right away how the copyright information needs to be updated. If you’d like to replace all the images, we’ll need to charge a fee to cover the additional work—unless the layout doesn’t need to be redesigned and you let us know right away where you’d like each image to go.
Is there still room to add our company logo?
A clean, consistent design is very important to us. This is something our customers and readers really appreciate about our books—because when you flip through them, you don’t immediately think of advertising. All logos are completely different, and depending on the font, shape, and color, a logo can be very distracting in our layout. Even if your logo is pretty, a consistent design and equal treatment of all logos are very important to us.
What does the © copyright symbol mean?
All creators of the images displayed must be listed here (usually the photographers who took the respective photos). Please be sure to check that this information is correct and complete; otherwise, it could end up costing you—as the provider of the work—a lot of money!
Questions About Approval
What happens if I don't approve the draft or approve it too late?
If approval is not received by the deadline, the page will not be printed, but you will still be charged for it!
What happens if I approve the print without the photographer's or the subjects' consent?
You should definitely not do that. Service providers who published photos in our books without permission ended up facing costly legal proceedings some time later.
Review Copy & Book Order
Will the finished book be sent to me?
Yes, at the end of August, each vendor will receive one complimentary copy by mail.
Can I buy more copies?
We're currently working on the options for this and will send you the details by email sometime this summer.
